Have you seen the new video engagement messages yet? They are emailed around and come with a sound track. Usually the hipster variety. This evening I was watching one and trying to think about how I would have felt if I had seen a video engagement announcement from an ex when I was single.Horrid. For me, the worst part of being single was hearing everyone talk in “we” instead of “I”. Video engagements take that to a whole other level. The one I saw tonight featured a girl with Bettie Page bangs and a guy in a pork-pie hat. The back-story is that Bettie Page broke up with her live-in boyfriend 7 months ago. Then she met Pork-Pie, got engaged and made a video. She sent the video around to everyone, including her ex’s friends. Which is how I saw it.
The worst part about the video is that it features the dog that she used to share with her ex. Prominently. Just an extra little bonus heartbreak, I guess. I would prefer heartburn. Yay chili.
