Outsmart Diabetes

Feeling pretty good about my grocery expenditures lately. Stonyfield Farms turns recycled yogurt containers into toothbrushes FIJI Water has a negative carbon footprint. Now if only I could follow Rooster's lead and ride my bike to work in the morning, I'd have a shot at environmentalism and physical health.



The Rules: Submit one (1) complete diabetes-friendly recipe, with recipe name, ingredient list, and steps needed to prepare dish.

Judging Criteria: The editors of Prevention Special Interest Publications and Rodale test kitchen managers and nutritionists shall select the winner of the Contest based on taste and appearance of competed recipe, plus nutritional content as it pertains to use in a diabetic diet as is suggested by the guidelines set forth by Prevention magazine nutrition experts.

The Prize: $1,000 and publication of recipe in an issue of Outsmart Diabetes

The Entry: Chicken tikka kabobs with a coconut dipping sauce made with my Mama-in-law’s favorite variety of yogurt: Stonyfield, of course.
