Every time my in-laws come to town something bizarre happens in our neighborhood. Their first trip out, Chicago’s all-male R.O.T.C.-- Righteously Outrageous Twirling Company, put on a baton show (with big wooden guns) in the middle of Clark Street.Last weekend Rooster's mom and pop came for a visit and we found ourselves walking to dinner in the middle of a Zombie Pub Crawl. If I had dressed as a zombie, I would have used cranberry sauce for blood.
Ocean Spray Ultimate Cranberry Recipe Contest
The Rules: Food recipes must use a minimum of ½ cup of any Ocean Spray product. Beverage recipes must use a minimum of 1 ½ ounces of any Oceans Spray product. Ingredients should consist of everyday kitchen ingredients. All recipes must be in English and indicate which one of the following categories your recipe falls into: 1. Beverages; 2. Snacks and Appetizers; 3. Salads; 4. Main dishes; 5. Side Dishes or 6. Desserts and/or Baked Goods.
Judging Criteria: (1) creativity (20%), (2) use of product (20%), (3) taste (20%), (4) overall appearance (20%) and (5) ease of preparation (20%).
Prizes: (1): $25,000 awarded in the form of a check made payable to the winner. Finalist Prize (4): A year supply of Ocean Spray products (awarded in the form of coupons) and a 3 day/ 2 night trip for two (Finalist plus travel companion) to New York to attend the Grand Prize Event.
The Entry: Cranberry Cupcakes with a filling even a zombie would love (is that gross?)
