Fool for Love Runner-Up Win!

Two "fool" contests in a row...what are the cosmos trying to tell me?

The Red Robin Fool for Love Contest

The Rules: Each Entry must include the Entrant’s original essay of one hundred (100) words or fewer (the “Entry”) describing the Entrant's amazing love story, which must be based on actual events.

The Prize: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be awarded the following: One (1) vacation for two (2) with Funjet Vacations to Nassau, Bahamas (I didn't get this one). Runners-up get $200 Visa Check Card and $50 Red Robin Gift Certificate (that's what I got).

Judging Criteria: Essays will be judged by an independent judging firm who will select at least fifty-one (51) finalists (one from each state and the District of Columbia ). Entries will be judged in equal value based on: 33.33% = originality, 33.33% = creativity and 33.33% = sincerity.

The Entry: My husband, Rooster, fell in love with me a year after I fell in love with him. I wooed him with homemade dinners, picnic lunches, even took him grocery shopping so I could cook in his apartment. After exhausting my culinary repertoire and my pride, I gave up; started dating people who were interested in being more than “just friends”. Soon after, Rooster came around not with a dozen roses but with a dozen eggs. He hardly said a word. Just went into the kitchen and started whisking yolks. It was a disastrous omelet, but it kicked off something great!
