A Useful Post

So many blogs are full of useful information. Today, I'll be one of them. But only if you are a new mommy who is about as clueless as I was those first 6 months.

Diaper Bags for Dummies
Dedicated to Baby Bird and the way she forced me to borrow diapers, wipes and rush home for a bottle last Saturday.

  • Two diapers-- one for a #2 accident and the other just in case your first falls inside-out on the really gross bathroom floor.
  • A travel pack of wipes.
  • An opaque plastic baggy because sometimes there is no sanitary disposal can in the really gross bathroom (I mean, seriously?) and you have to carry your diaper outside the stall during a particularly vibrant moment.
  • Sample-size diaper cream packets (ask your doctor, they carry freebies).
  • 6 ounces of water in a bottle or 6 ounces of mommy-milk (never leave the house without liquid; babies prefer public forums when time to start a growth spurt).
  • A small tupperware containing enough formula for 6-ounces of water if your body has called it quits on the mommy-milk.
  • An extra onesie and an extra pair of baby pants (accidents rarely happen when they are planned for).
  • A clean shirt for you (one day that baby will puke on you. I promise).
  • At 9 months, add a rice cracker.
Our latest Whole Wheat shipment? Success rice. Because this post will make you a traveling success for sure.

Why it is that there's never an accident when you're actually prepared? :) I'm loving your tips!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This made me laugh. My daughter has already been burned by not having an extra onsie in her diaper bag.

Babies are masters at testing their parents' preparedness. It's like a secret underworld of devious baby geniuses.
