Rooster's latest bout of gift-giving goodness is a doozy. He hired his assistant from work to sneak into the house in the dark of date night (don't get any pervy ideas, we were out to dinner) and install two flower boxes filled with herbs.
The assistant picked out and planted the goodies: basil, thyme, parsley and a blossom of what I think is marjoram. Her boyfriend screwed the arrangement into the rock of our building. The whole shebang was a Mother's Day surprise. So I guess Baby Bird was worth it after all.
Just kidding.
Anyway, the whole thing made me want to go off and hunt out a Dad's Day contest with a killer prize. Maybe then my gift would have a shot at being even half as cool as Rooster's. Alas, no Dad's Day contests were on the CCC site. Guess I'm back to riding the coattails of the Last Great Chicken to Rooster Gift-- engraved silver collar stays wrapped with a bow back in 2004.
Just kidding again.
