Single moms, hats off. Rooster is in Springfield and I am overwhelmed by not the difficulty of, but the loneliness of, solo baby duties. I mean, she doesn't talk. At all.
So if I wanted to confess that I fibbed today and didn't go to a staff lunch because I really missed my baby and wanted to see her-- there would be no one to tell that to. And if I wanted to share a big plate of steamed shrimp with someone so I wouldn't eat nearly one full cup of ketchup (disguised as cocktail sauce) on my own, I couldn't. But the biggest challenge of being a single mom must come in the morning. No magically appearing coffee. No cereal set-up. No dishwasher emptying.
I'm not gloating. I just am truly grateful after one night alone with BB to have Rooster in the nest. What I could really use is 365 nights with the two of them. In a classy hotel...
