We had a bomb scare at work. As in, someone threw a homemade Molotov Cocktail at us. No one was hurt and the fire department put everything out lickity split, but it was frightening and continues to be.
Since winter break is over and the pre-school is back in session, parents are naturally concerned. One papa took it a bit far though. He wrote an email detailing various scenarios about what might happen to us in the future. The first scenario involves one of our security guards. "Let's say an armed gunman comes into the building," wrote the papa. "Let's say he shoots the elderly guard at the door." (Frank! Lovely, lovely Frank).
The scenario continues with the gunmen making his way up the stairs and stopping at various floors causing death and destruction. It was an entirely upsetting email, and I couldn't help but feel bad for poor Frank who has white hair but who really isn't that elderly. He was the victim of a death fantasy.
I felt so guilty for knowing about his imaginary death, I resorted to bringing him peppermint fueled chocolate in hopes it would provide protection. Because who dies while eating a cookie?
