Self Lighten

Rooster has taken the helm of our finances in the usual Rooster way: using newly discovered technology. He’s a sucker for anything he finds on the internet or reads about in the news. Me on the other hand, I’ve been suspicious of anything revolutionary for some time now. I’m not talking social electronics: facebook, linked-in, those networks make it possible to hide the things you don’t want seen. But online banking and bill pay are too exposed. Not public of course, but accessible to government spies.

Rooster tells me that this is nonsense as we do not live in a science fiction novel. But he also suggested just last week that we enroll in pay by touch instead of using cash. To which I pointed out that this would allow thieves to cut off our fingertips instead of just stealing our wallets. “Lighten up,” said Rooster.
