Harry Potter movies are good for a 3 hour escape and the books are good for at least 8, but how fun would it be to hop on ones own modern broomstick with one’s own Hermione and Ron equivalents and fly off to ANYWHERE?

The Entry: Cinnamon Chocolate Truffle Cake with cayenne pepper cream
Prep time: 20 minutes Cooking time: 50 minutes
4 oz. unsalted butter
8 oz. Bakers semi-sweet Baking chocolate
1 teaspoon orange zest (plus additional for garnish)
1 teaspoon orange flavored liqueur
1 cup granulated white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground cloves
6 eggs
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
15 ounces Cool Whip
Preheat oven to 325. Put up a kettle of water to boil. Grease a 9” round cake pan either with butter or cooking spray. Cover pan bottom with parchment and grease the parchment again.
Melt butter and chocolate together in a large glass bowl in the microwave (5 minutes and 50% power). Stir in the orange zest and orange liquor with a whisk. Cool a few minutes.
Whisk the sugar, cinnamon and clove into the chocolate. Crack eggs one at a time into the chocolate, whisking briefly after each addition. Pour mixture into prepared cake pan.
You will cook the cake in a bain marie (a water bath). To do this, carefully place the cake pan in a larger oven proof pan. Put the double pans in the pre-heated oven. Carefully pour boiling water into the larger pan so the water reaches 2/3 of the way up the sides of the cake pan. Be careful not to splash the chocolate cake. Bake for 50 minutes.
Remove the cake pan from the hot water bath. Cool on a wire rack before unmolding.
To serve, gently fold in 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper into Cool Whip and serve cake garnished with cayenne pepper cream and orange zest.
Serves 8- 10
