California Recap

Last week Baby Bird and I went to California to visit my parents. I thought we were special and unique, but babies are exploding out of their mommies out there.

At a local bar, the ratio of adults to Baby Bjorns was 10 to 1. One couple with a 6-week old in a sling introduced themselves to our two-baby table. They reminded me of myself in Chicago—desperately trying to find baby friends. It’s funny how I see parents with a child the same age as mine and instantly think we could be life long pals.

Two of my girlfriends from California have newborns too, and my mother played hostess so we could get all the babies together. It was the most passive play date on the planet. The 14 week old was totally interactive and charming, but I’m ashamed to report that BB didn’t do much besides loll. Of course, I still secretly believe she’s a genius. Despite her inadvertent arm flinging.

Taste of Home Cakes and Tortes

Traveling wiped me out, but here’s a taste of home contest to mirror my taste of home California adventure. In the picture, BB is the one in the white overalls. She is 11 weeks old. The middle baby is 14 weeks and the baby in pink is 7 weeks.
