Our nest is multiplying! Baby bird on the way! My mom bought us a plastic egg to go with the stuffed chicken and rooster she brought up last time she came to visit. Very classy. So far, the only bummer about the whole pregnancy thing is that it has completely sapped my will to cook. Entering month four just now, and my kitchen has been barren for nearly as long. Oh, I made a meat sauce one night, and tacos a couple of times, but my culinary gears are clogged. Luckily, baby happiness means that I don't really mind, although Rooster has been wandering around a bit lost at dinner time.
I hope this lack-of-will-to-cook doesn't mean our child will hate food. I haven't even felt like eating. And it has nothing to do with nausea. I somehow missed the whole nausea thing. No sickness, zilch. I keep re-reading the part in the pregnancy book that tells me there is nothing wrong with me for not getting sick. That I should stop worrying and feel lucky. But aside from cooking, worrying is my only real specialty. So I worry.
The one thing I have wanted to eat is tofu. Vegetarian fetus?
