Danger

Stirring risotto tonight (squash and sage) with BB strapped into her little chair on the island in the middle of our kitchen, facing my back. Rooster just read Jonathan Safran-Foer's book, Eating Animals, and is a vegetarian now, so I was using veg stock like a good Chicken. Stir, stir, stir.

Baby is cooing happily and stuffing handfuls of kale & quinoa (yep, I'm that mom) into her mouth. Or so I think. When I finally turn around, I see that baby is not actually eating health food. She is holding a knife. A 9-inch chef knife. She is holding it by the handle (thank god) and banging it up and down into my boos block cutting board.

The horrible thing is that I watched her for a few moments (heartbeats, really) just thinking, awww, that's so cute! before removing the blade from her grasp. Maybe I should start a bad mommy's union? I'm so proud of my budding chef.
