Matchmaker Matchmaker

The stars have aligned over my stalking project. I bumped into an old co-worker at the JCC. Her 4 month old daughter is in the "younger infant" program and she suggested that we meet after daycare some time for a walk. I promptly agreed and confessed I didn't know any of the other parents yet. "I know someone who has her daughter in your class," she said. "I could introduce you."

And who might this woman be?

Yep, you guessed it. Moppy Haired Baby's mother. Who is a COP. How cool is that? A Jewish Policewoman-- I didn't even know those existed.

Then, me being me and totally unable to contain my excitement over this bit of news, I confessed my stalking project. Although I didn't call it that per se. I just built on the concept that maybe I was a little starved for mommy friends, and maybe I had been scoping out the now-I-know-she's-a-cop mommy.

So get how gracious my old co-worker is-- she says to me, "I can totally call her. We can all take a walk together. It'll be like a set-up!"

Walking. I've come to terms with the fact that it's the new happy hour. But Mommy-Matchmaking? On behalf of my old co-worker, all I can say is, watch out J-Date. There's a new kind of Yenta in town.
